To begin with, Neoprene, like latex , is just rubber . Neoprene, however, has undergone a different treatment during production and is therefore a synthetic rubbers . It has a more insulating character and is frequently used in water sports clothing (wetsuits) and, in a much thinner version, in the fashion industry.
It is always good to know exactly what you are wearing and where it comes from. Hence a very small piece of preliminary information. Neoprene has been around for a long time (1931), has many (industrial and medical) applications and was called Dupreen in the early years. The inventor of Neoprene is DuPont Performance Polymers .
The right Neoprene for the fetish party scene looks like matte black rubber on the outside and actually feels like soft rubber. The "1 layered" material therefore only has 2 layers; a carrier (layer) on the inside with glued on the rubber (Neoprene) on the outside. Always nice and thin; between 0.5 mm and 1 mm and therefore "breathes" nicely. (perspires much less) It is light to wear and very flexible to move in. It is chemically resistant, strong (stretching) and water and dirt repellent. This type of Neoprene is also stitched in a very special way; the buildings against each other. This stitching technique is only used for fashion purposes. The material and size label therefore always only mentions 2 materials . The highest percentage, often between 60 to 80%, always has the technical abbreviation CR for Chloroprene Rubber (Neoprene), which refers to the soft rubber exterior. In a less percentage, often 20 to 40%, you often see the abbreviation PA or PY (Polyamide or Polyester) indicating the carrier (the layer) on the inside. Are there more than 2 or different material abbreviations: is this not the right Neoprene or just not Neoprene.
Note about wetsuit diving or windsurfing suits: these are also made of Neoprene with one big difference: the Neoprene is often between various layers and aims to insulate as much as possible against the cold in and under water. These suits often have a (colored) Nylon protective layer on the outside. This is an extra protection against coral reef and sharp rocks. Because these suits must insulate well, they are often thicker; often between 1 - 8 mm, sometimes even 10 mm. These suits are also glued completely differently (waterproof). Due to all these properties, the suits are not suitable (much too warm and stiffer) and also not allowed (nylon outside) for the fetish party scene.
To make this story not too technical: the material is of a cast quality (is poured in hot liquid during production and then dries by air cooling), making it 100% bi-stretch (4-way stretch). So there is no web tension in the material. This only benefits the fit; it stretches right in all directions. This makes the material also good stretching (just one size more / less) uplifting (for cleavage or buttocks) and corrective (for just that few pounds more). A real "Every Body's Friend" ...
Neoprene is therefore rubber and therefore, just like latex, has been highly regarded and known for years on the "dress code ladder" of fetish materials; because of this also 100% suitable for all fetish parties world-wide. The material also has beautiful "skin-tight" properties with a high fetish content.
If you have doubts about the fit / quality, or just want to see these neoprene products first, this is of course always possible. Simply make a fitting appointment to visit the Modea showroom, so that you can determine your own opinion in peace.
We have all sizes of all neoprene party and clubwear as fitting models in our showroom.

Dressing and undressing: we advise you (if you have no help and are alone) to keep the zippers closed for 1/4 of the total length. If you are alone (and you are not trained in it) it is impossible to close the garments and you will definitely damage the zippers. The best way to put it on is:
keep zippers closed 1/4 and step into the garment (with skirt, hot pants, or dress)
roll up the Neoprene along your legs into a sausage and grip it well (never use nails)
pull the skirt up until it fits well. Pull the dress up above your waist, so higher than normal.
Then dress with the top part (this is very loose then) and close the zipper gently (which is then not under tension)
make another "sausage" from bottom to top and make sure you have a good grip (hold material firmly in your fists)
Then roll the bottom part down along your body and gently pull it tight. Flatten small folds with a flat hand.
Pulling it off, very simple: unlock the zipper and you will notice that due to the elasticity of the rubber material, the zipper opens without any problems.
If you do have help, one person should "help" the zipper 5 cm above the other person's hands by folding it closed.
Washing tip: gently move your hand up and down in cold (slightly lukewarm) clear water; best in a bath. Use very little friendly fabric softener (purely for freshness / scent), rinse well with cold water (shower head) so that no residue remains. Note: never use a washing machine / spin dryer / dry cleaning; this will irreparably damage the Neoprene.
Drying tip: "pat" dry with a soft dry towel, dry the zipper for a while. Then hang on a wide hanger (not inside out) and let it dry slowly. Grease the zipper from time to time with a friendly silicone agent or candle grease to keep the zipper in top condition. (note: do not touch the neoprene or clean it directly)
Storage tip: hanging on a wide hanger in an airy dark cupboard between normal textile clothing. Always avoid direct sunlight; this makes the Neoprene obsolete. Never hang next to / against other PVC, lacquer, leather look, rubber or other plastic materials. The plasticizers of the materials are eternal "friends" and can "bleed" after a longer period of time. Dark colors transfer to light colors, which can cause irreparable color damage.
Note: Neoprene hates sharpness; so never put your nails in (and pull). The neoprene will tear immediately and this damage is also very recognizable. The only way of reacting this type of Neoprene is light sanding and gluing, but you always see this repair. A very ugly repair for the beautiful club and party wear. This does not matter for a diving suit; the fish under water will not be bothered by it ...
Fold lines: if you store Neoprene clubwear (dry) folded (for example under a pile of other clothes) you will create fold lines in the rubber part. No problem; this looks more serious than it is. The polyamide inner layer (carrier) stretches differently than the Neoprene (top layer), so that you see a "broken" fold line in the rubber. If you then hang the garment on a hanger, this line will slowly disappear by itself. When you wear the garment, this line disappears automatically after a relatively short time (you fill the line again with your body from the inside and the material simply "springs" back into its original shape).
